Peaches and Cream

(button-up shirt from Forever 21, skort from SheInside, heels from Alloy)

Alright, one last outfit with this skort before I put it away, I promise. It's just too easy to pair this skort with everything! This outfit is sort of a lighter version of my last outfit, inspired by Jenny Ong's look, in which she paired the ubiquitous Lovers + Friends jacket with this white skort. I loved the easy, light combination of peach and white, so I tried to recreate that here.

Have a lovely weekend!

The Right Angles

(acid wash denim jacket and beanie from Forever 21, v-neck tee from Charlotte Russe, skort from SheInside, leopard booties from GoJane)

I went out to have brunch with a few girlfriends today at Los Gatos Cafe. My best friend and I shared a huge plate consisting of eggs benedict with chicken apple sausage and avocado, a side of potatoes, and raspberry coffee cake. It was a delicious, fulfilling meal that (temporarily) satisfied my cravings for breakfast food.

I went for more of a "grungy" appearance here with the acid wash denim, beanie, and leopard booties. I decided to pretend that I was wearing a dress/romper by pairing a black v-neck with my black skort (still obsessed with this skort...). I think this pair of leopard booties is probably the most "wild" pair of shoes I own. Whenever I go out wearing these booties, I get compliments on them. I've been deviating towards more minimalistic designs lately in terms of footwear, but these leopard booties will always have a special place in my heart.

Soft Neutrals

(thrifted cardigan from Crossroads, sheer top and bangle from Forever 21, skort from SheInside, heels from Zara)

Ahh, the ubiquitous wrap skort (looks like a skirt from the front, but shorts from the back) that every blogger seems to own. To be honest, I wasn't really into this skort when I first saw it popping up on the blogosphere. I'm not used to dramatic, geometric cuts; I'm used to soft, flowy hemlines, like that of chiffon skirts. However, as I saw this skort styled in numerous ways by different bloggers, it started to grow on me. I also own the black version.

I like how, this year, I've been trying to go out of my comfort zone in terms of my style. This is one of my rare outfits in which I wear mostly light/neutral colors. Hopefully, working on my blog this summer and beyond will allow me to further explore different styles.

Have a lovely week!

Geometric

(cowl neck top from Forever 21, pants from H&M, heels from Zara)

I bought these pants a while ago (I think last fall?), and I've only worn them once. I wrote in one of my other posts about how I'm becoming more comfortable with wearing bolder prints, and this is probably the boldest print I own. Although, at the time of buying, I was still not all too comfortable with wearing bold prints like this, I fell in love with this print at first sight (and the price was perfectI remember these pants being only $13!). Because I wanted the focus to be on the bold print, I decided to pair the pants with a solid top and my favorite nude sandals from Zara.

I'm so glad it's Friday; I plan on going to the beach tomorrow with my best girlfriends to bask in this glorious summer weather. Have a great weekend! xx

Ivory Romance

(hat and shorts from Forever 21, top from mom, heels from Zara)

White on white! Such an unlikely combo for me, considering I'm more likely to wear black on black than anything haha. I've been wanting a floppy hat for a while (it's great for keeping the sun out of your face), and found an affordable one at F21.

My summer's been great so far! I've been spending time with friends and family while doing a lot of work on my blog and other projects. I've also been getting a lot of reading done to satisfy by bibliophilic tendencies.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

The Blues

(cap from Asos, gingham shirt from mom, shorts from Forever 21, lucite heels from GoJane)

I found this gingham top in my closet the other day; it turns out that my mom gifted it to me because she didn't want it anymore. I don't even remember the last time I wore gingham...possibly freshman year of high school? I decided to pair this "youthful" print with a few edgier pieces, like my pleather cap and lucite heels (which are the modern equivalent of Cinderella slippers, IMO)

Happy Saturday! xx

Diamonds in the Dust

(thrifted crop top from Crossroads, cigarette pants from Forever 21, heels from Zara)

I'm finally done with my second year of college! It was a difficult year in terms of a lot of areas, but I really did learn a lot, and I've become a much more resilient person as a result. It's true what they say: adversity catalyzes change.

Speaking of change, I've updated my blog layout! This layout was created by PINK+LOLA. I've actually been wanting to create my own layout, but I don't have the HTML/web design prowess to do so yet. No matterI love my new layout as it feels very me. Also, I've allowed larger image sizes on this template because larger images show so much more detailperfect for outfit photos.

Anyways, onto this outfitI got these diamond print cigarette pants from Forever a couple of weeks ago and I'm in love with them. The fit is great, and I love that they're cut at my ankles. Being petite, I find it difficult to purchase affordable ankle pants that I don't have to tailor. And let's talk about this beautiful geometric print. It's interesting to think about how much my style has changed. Even just a couple of months ago, I don't think I would be courageous enough to wear a bold print like this, but now I love prints! I think fashion, for me, has been a lot about exploration, and seems to reflect a lot of growth and change that happens in my life. It thrills me to think of how I will expand this blog now and in the future.
